South Africa’s commitment to International Criminal Court processes is being questioned after they let Sudan President Omar Al Bashir escape arrest. Al Bashir is wanted for human rights abuses in Sudan, particularly in the country’s Western region of Darfur. Al Bashir was in Johannesburg for an African Leader’s Summit when a court application was issued ordering him not to leave while an arrest warrant was considered, but the leader was still able to leave the country freely.
