Australia’s refugee deal with Cambodia was supposed to come into effect today, but no refugees have been moved. September last year saw then Immigration Minister Scott Morrison making a 4 million dollar deal with his Cambodian counterpart. The plan was to offer refugees in Nauru the chance to resettle in Cambodia. The government is saying the delay is due to logistical issues, but human rights activists are saying refugees just don’t want to go.
