Skeptics question tent embassy motive

There have been mixed reactions this week following the Federal Government’s decision to consider making the Aboriginal Tent Embassy in Canberra a permanent structure. Long time supporter of the Tent Embassy, Isobel Coe says the government should be focusing more on solving the issues that prompted the beginnings of the tent embassy. National Director of Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation, David Cooper, says the governments’ motives need to be assessed. But Minister for Territories, Jim Lloyd says the current tent embassy doesn’t reflect the true aspirations of the Aboriginal community around Australia.
