In the baking heat of the Northern Territory, air conditioning has become a fact of life, not a luxury.

It has been found that now Territorians have become less able to deal with extreme heat than they did 40 years ago.

Aboriginal people have for time immemorial dealt with heat in traditional ways.  One is taking a nap in the afternoon – new research shows many benefits in the enervating heat of the deep north.
