The National Party would like to see suburban sprawl replaced with growth in dying country areas. Senator Barnaby Joyce will tour rural areas over the next few weeks to discuss his idea that people who live and work in the country should be rewarded with a tax rate of only ten cents in the dollar. He cites Alaska, Ireland and Hong Kong as examples of where such a policy has worked to regenerate economies.
