Australia is one of the last habitats left for the endangered dugong and several species of marine turtles. However Indigenous groups in the country’s north are working in partnership with local communities, researchers and government agencies to ensure their survival. The work of some of these groups is featured in a new DVD called “Message Disk”, produced as part of a campaign by the North Australian Indigenous Land and Sea Management Alliance (NAILSMA).
