Legal rights for Australian same-sex couples have been improving over the past few years. One state that has lagged behind till now is South Australia. This week the South Australian parliament is looking at updating 92 State laws so that same-sex and heterosexual couples are treated equally. The issues addressed range from property matters and inheritance concerns to parenting leave. Matthew Loader, a campaign spokesperson for Let’s Get Equal, spoke about the adequacy of the proposed changes.
