Rudd announces $58.5 million National Centre for Extreme Weather

Although the threats of 2012 have passed, climate change and extreme weather is still an important issue for all Australian’s. Today Kevin Rudd announced he will fund the Bureau of Meteorology with $85.5 million to establish the National Centre for Extreme Weather if Labour is re-elected. They will put in place the latest early warning systems to be able to better predict, gather and analyse information about natural disasters facing our country.
