Scant data from Federal and State health authorities are not helping assess the threat the latest COVID variant JN.1 presents to our health care system.  We do know that currently there is a significant second wave afflicting those in Victoria and NSW.

COVID deaths are still happening, but for the very young and the very old, there is another threat from the RSV virus.  This is a respiratory viral infection that presents with pneumonia and bronchiolitis particularly in children under 2 and the elderly.  It is projected to increase in the upcoming winter season
