In 2010 an elder from South Australia and another from Queensland decided it was time to do something about the tragic and drought-ridden state of the River Murray. With their families they led a ceremonial singing of country downriver, and by the time they were half way to the mouth the rains began. The amazing and uplifting story is told in a new movie- Ringbalin.

The movie premiered last night at the Adelaide Film Festival, and with its launch comes a campaign to crowdsource the funds to create a mobile phone app which would allow travellers to source the stories of the river and hear them told by elders.
