There’s been a long running campaign for Australia to have its own bill of rights, that’s still not looking very likely, but what might be on the agenda is a national human rights act. At a recent roundtable the Australian Human Rights Commission unanimously agreed that such an act IS constitutionally possible. It’s the sort of thing that gets lawyers excited, but for the average Australian what will it actually mean?
