The ISIS caliphate continued to crumble today as the Syrian city of Raqqa, once the terrorist group’s most secure stronghold, was taken by rebel forces this morning.

The Syrian Democratic Forces have claimed victory in the northern city, beating the Syrian military in the race to oust IS forces.

While the fighting isn’t over, it is a huge moment in the fight against the ISIL in Syria, and the Middle East as a whole.
