Retail Stores Using Facial Recognition to Reduce Crimes

With facial recognition technology now available, it seems that KMART, Bunnings and The Good Guys have decided to use this technology in their stores to reduce crimes.

In a media release from Customer advocacy group CHOICE, it was highlighted that there are a lack of consent procedures present, and that the law is behind in this area. This has elevated privacy concerns among people over the hardware giants.  Bunnings has admitted their use of the technology whereas Kmart and The Big Guys are in denial.
