Researcher claims huge failure of Indigenous work for the dole scheme

Professor Jon Altman says the federal government’s remote work for the dole program is failing and is calling for major change ahead of its end date mid next year.
It comes after the release of figures from the September quarter last year show over 50 000 penalties issued to those on the Community Development Program.
The Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet responded saying CDP participants are subject to the same guidelines as other work for the dole participants.
