Recreational hunting could be allowed on public land

The NSW Primary Industry Minister, Katrina Hodgkinson, has proposed opening 142 state forests for recreational hunting to help control feral animals. Green groups in NSW say this is an ineffective way to deal with feral animals and is calling on the government to reverse its new open door policy. The NSW Conservation Council say public land should not be used for recreational hunting.
