June 15 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and to recognise its importance, the Unite for Action Queensland Elder Abuse Prevention Forum was held in Brisbane.
The event brought in frontline professional workers across various job industries to seek solutions on eliminating elder abuse.
One in six elderly Australians experience abuse in some form each year and these abuses can include psychological, financial and social.
