The Australian Broadcasting Authority has this week found that Adelaide broadcaster Bob Francis breached the Commercial Radio Codes of Practice with a program that was likely to incite or perpetrate hatred or vilify Aboriginal people. The ABA found that while the talkback discussion of the Redfern riots in February last year was in the public interest, Francis did not present the material reasonably or in good faith. The Wire speaks with complainant Derek Thomas and Chair of the Australian Indigenous Communications Forum, Ken Reys.
