Queensland has finally reached an agreement on school funding, becoming the last jurisdiction to join the Better and Fairer Schools Agreement.

Negotiations between Federal and State governments have persisted for over a year, before reaching what Prime Minister, Albanese described as a “landmark deal.”

Public schools are now set to receive 25 percent funding from the Federal government.

This also puts in motion the goal to fully fund public schools by 2034 – recommended by the Gronski review a decade earlier in 2011.

So, what could this agreement mean for standards of public education across the nation?
