The United Nation’s is celebrating the International Year of Indigenous Languages in 2019.
To mark the occasion the Royal Australian Mint has produced a 50 cent coin that aims to celebrate and appreciate Australia’s diverse Indigenous languages.
The coin features 14 different Indigenous words for ‘coin’ and elements of nature that are a major cultural influence in indigenous communities.
