Push for global arms treaty may be stymied by major powers

Next month The United Nations will meet to discuss whether to implement an Arms Trade Treaty. The Treaty would regulate the trade in arms to prevent dictators, war criminals and other militia groups from obtaining weapons. But with the five permanent m embers on the UN Security Council large players in the 4 billion dollar industry, many question whether the treaty will come into effect.
