But what sort of effect do events like these have on children? Should they be exposed to some of the unpleasant truths of the world, or should we only tell them about the good things. Monash University Psychology Professor Bruce Tonge told Peter Godfrey every case is different, and is often dependent on prior experiences and family circumstances.
