Has the controversy over the anti-cervical cancer drug Gardasil become a judgement on the sex lives of teenagers? Plummeting sales of the drug in the US are attributed to prudery. And the Australian Family Association says while it isn’t opposed to the vaccination program in Australia, it implies that all Australian teenagers have multiple sex partners. Proponents of the vaccine claim it could save up to 700 lives a year. However, it’s not without its problems – one thousand schoolgirls have logged their reactions to the vaccine with the Therapeutic Goods Administration.
