Progress on Indigenous issues questioned on first day in Parliament

Today marks the one year anniversary since the Rudd Government formerly apologized to the Stolen Generation. But for the protesters outside Parliament House today it was all about the ongoing Northern Territory Intervention which Prime Minister Kevin Rudd promised to review. The convergence on Canberra is urging the Government to reinstate the Racial Discrimination Act and work more closely with Indigenous groups to achieve better outcomes in remote communities. This report by Anne von Fehrn begins with Indigenous activist Barbara Shaw. She describes how they were unable to buy food due to a breakdown of the payment system in the NT.
