This Seniors’ Week, we take a look at some of the issues facing older people. Australia’s aged population is rapidly expanding and many in aged care support are urging the government to invest more in this community. Six million voters are over 50 and in the next 10 years the number of people living with dementia will increase to 400,000.

Earlier in the year the ALP’s $3.7 billion ‘Living Longer, Living Better’ reforms passed through parliament.The legislation included changes to fight dementia and attract workers and introduce a home care means testing.The Coalition has committed to reducing the amount of paperwork for aged care workers.
