130 climate protesters are expected to appear in Newcastle Local Court from today, pleading not guilty to anti-protest charges related to the blockade of the world’s largest coal port last November. 

Organisers from the Rising Tide Movement responsible for the blockade, say they’re standing up against “extreme laws designed to deter protest.”
