The residents of Port Augusta in South Australia have voted overwhelmingly in favour of building a Solar Thermal power plant. The proposed Solar Thermal electricity plant will replace the existing, but ageing coal-fired station.

Greg Perkin from the Port Augusta City Council also is backing the Solar Thermal option, but says a final decision is still some way off.
