The Opposition has called for the new Minister for Population- Tony Bourke- to cut migration into Australia. Traditionally, the Coalition Government has supported strong population growth. Now, they say, the Treasury estimation of 36 million by 2050 is unsustainable. But is migration necessary to fuel our economy? Or are the projected figures environmentally disastrous?
