A new project is getting Indigenous entrepreneurs and venture capitalists together – with the goal of getting more home-grown business ideas off the ground. PitchBLACK is the brainchild of the former CEO of Brisbane’s Lumbu Indigenous Community Foundation, Darren Godwell who wanted to find different approaches for business and community projects. PitchBLACK Project Manager Waverley Stanley says the first pitch was held in Sydney, and was a great beginning. Yirra Yaakin Aboriginal Theatre Group from Perth was one of the 70-odd nominees to be selected, and Audra Standich says there have been many positive spin-offs.
