In the Philippines, Manila Mayor Francisco Moreno made a proposal. If any of the local Barangay or small district area in Metro Manila can prove to have zero covid-19 cases for the next 2 months, the area will be rewarded with P100 000 reward.

This announcement sparked mixed reactions as some see it as a good thing while others believe it will cause more harm than good.

As the Philippines is still currently the highest country in with Covid-19 South East Asia, and continue to rise in cases, is a monetary-incentive like system enough to help stop the spread?
