Palm Island has had its fair share of trouble in the last year, but this week the small island community off the coast of north Queensland has reason to celebrate…the launch of their first radio station. The station’s official launch yesterday, at the Palm Island Police Citizens Youth Club, was shared with the nation by live broadcast on the National Indigenous Radio Service. Former Mayor and Deputy of Palm Island Aboriginal Council Alf Lacey says the radio station is a dream come true. The Board of Townsville’s Radio 4K1G have pledged their support.
