This week global oil giant Chevron Texaco began work on the world’s largest Liquefied Natural Gas project located off the coast of Western Australia, a project worth $11 billion. Australian workers have always carried out this work but in this case, Chevron Texaco has left Aussie workers standing on the beach watching a Russian crew perform the drilling at poorer terms and conditions. Maritime Union of Australia’s industrial officer, Rod Currie, says the Union now is taking action against Chevron Texaco.
