Mr Obama stressed that the US is not at war with Islam, but with people who have twisted ideologies, perverting religion for their own political ends. We spoke to Professor Riaz Hassan, Director of the International Centre for Muslim and Non-Muslim Understanding about what difference the summit can make.

United States President Barack Obama has convened a three day White House Summit with local, federal and international leaders on Countering Violent Extremism. The summit is aimed at building awareness, countering extremist narratives and emphasising community-led intervention.
