The New South Wales state government has reached an agreement with the Federal Government over the funding and implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme. The Federal Government will contribute 51%, or $3.3 billion, of the cost of the scheme in NSW, and is expected to help about 120 000 people.

Craig Wallace, President of People with Disability Australia said that under the new scheme, regardless of how a disability is acquired, disabled people will be entitled to support.
