Amnesty International has embarked on a campaign to inspire what they call young ‘Ambassadors of Freedom’. Students in Adelaide today participated in hands-on workshops and listened to a variety of human rights speakers to learn skills such as campaigning effectively and working with the government. One of the speakers was youth advocate Iktimal Haj-Ali. She not only works to break the stigma against Muslim people but encourages young Muslims not to fall prey to playing the victims in society. Jess Haines spoke to her at Adelaide University about how she empowers young people.
