Not everyone happy about welfare cards, despite improvements

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says that cashless welfare cards have had a “positive” impact on some regional communities.

It’s been six months since the cards were introduced to Ceduna in South Australia and the Kimberly region of Western Australia.

According to a recent progress report, poker machine revenue is down and arrests for drunkenness have more than halved in Ceduna since last year.However, not everyone is happy about the welfare cards.
