After 15 hours of rioting the Victorian Corrections finally got control of Metropolitan Remand Centre at Ravenhall. Prisoners were rioting against a new ban on smoking in the prison. With similar bans about to be rolled out in News South Wales we spoke to Brett Collins of prison advocacy group Justice Action whether the state government’s had the legal right to take smoking away from Prisoners.
