No point raising retirement age while discrimination persists, says Commissioner


Why should we all work until age 70 if we’re getting fired at 54? Age Discrimination Commissioner Susan Ryan says the Government’s latest plan to raise the retirement age might put us on the dole instead of the pension – with no net benefit. Her suggestion: stop employers’ prejudice costing taxpayers $10 billion a year.
