Tasmania made history this week by electing Australia’s first ever female-majority state parliament. With other leading ladies including Queensland Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Julie Bishop, the rise of women in politics is becoming ever prevalent.

However, Australia still has a long way to go with the United Nations ranking Australia 50 globally for their female representation in parliament.
