Ningaloo Reef faces it’s toughest battle yet.

A Battle is brewing in Western Australia. Dutch Oil giant Shell has put in an application to drill and test a well to a depth of 5650 metres near the Ningaloo Reef. The 2009 Montara oil spill and gas leak off the northern coast of Western Australian is considered to be one of Australia’s worst drilling disasters. A Royal commission into the incident recommended the industry make extensive changes to ensure this was prevented in the future.
