New websites make dollars and sense of climate change risks

New online tools will help people gauge sea level rises in their local areas and even potential insurance changes as a result of climate change.

Coastal Risk combines elevation data from Geoscience Australia and sea level rise scenarios from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change with Google Maps to show what the Australian coastline might look like in 2100.

Using the same data, Climate Valuation will help calculate changes in insurance premiums.
