While evidence shows how technology impacts a developing brain, less is known about how technology affects an ageing brain.
New research from the United States has revealed a lifetime relationship with phones, computers and the internet can actually be good for brain functioning.
The study found people over 50 years old who adapt to and use technology might be associated with lower rates of cognitive decline.
The study also found no evidence to support the ‘digital dementia’ hypothesis, which predicts that an overreliance on technology is worsening our cognitive ability.
