New report throws spotlight on work-family juggling act

Equity at work, in the home and in society is still a long way off for Australian women, according to a report released today by the Federal Office of the Status of Women. The study assessed the gains made by women over the past 10 years. While some progress has been made in education and health, balancing work and family and pay equity remain two of the major issues facing women today. Shadow Minister for Women, Tanya Plibersek, says that Australia’s provisions in these two areas are poor and that the government has done very little to redress these problems. She spoke to Paulina Vidal whilst nursing the most recent addition to her own family.
