Binge drinking among children and teenagers has reached alarming levels. That’s according to a major new report released today by the Australian National Council on Drugs. “Binge” drinking translates to 5 drinks for girls, and 7 drinks for boys in one sitting. The report found that 10 per cent of 12 to 17 year olds are drinking at dangerous levels in any given week. Amongst their findings is that families don’t have enough access to support services, and that parents have the strongest influence over their children’s behaviour.
