Sol Bellear has been appointed the CEO of a new Aboriginal authority for Redfern, created by a united group of Aboriginal community controlled organizations. Mr Bellear says while he will adopt a cooperative approach to working with government, he would not take a backward step in achieving the best outcomes for Aboriginal people in inner city Sydney. His first step as the new CEO is to issue a press release, offering to broker talks between the Aboriginal housing Company and Minister Sartor, if needed. Mr Bellear also says the New South Wales government is destroying the multicultural harmony of Redfern, and riding roughshod over the wishes of the Aboriginal community.
