A newly launched program called Ride the Wave will target migrants and refugees, teaching swimming and surf safety skills. Two recent drownings in South Australia have highlighted the need to make sure people from other cultures are given the opportunity to understand the dangers of Australian beaches. The program will also bring more diversity to the surf lifesaving scene and give people the opportunity to get involved with the International Lifesaving Championships.
