New album empowers First Nations language revival

Researchers predict that by 2050, no fluent speakers of First Nations languages will remain in Australia – if language preservation is not tackled head on…according to Community Linguist, Dr Vicki Couzens.

With the powerful aim of reinforcing and reclaiming indigenous language – First Nations artists along with researchers from Deakin university and University of Melbourne have produced a new album Gunditjmara Alive, celebrating Gunditjmara language through song and music.
