With Australian banks under the spotlight of the financial services royal commission, some are raising questions over the effectiveness of the regulators who oversee the industry.
It comes as the Productivity Commission released a report into the banking sector finding that competition has been reduced by regulators’ quest for stability, leaving some customers on higher margins and smaller banks with higher operating costs.
