Twenty-seven out of thirty-five dioceses and archdioceses in Australia have joined the National Redress Scheme.
The scheme, implemented by the Royal Commission five months ago, aims to provide support and reconciliation for people who experienced institutional child sexual abuse.
However, eight Catholic institutions are yet to sign up.
Social Services Minister Paul Fletcher says he expects the eight will sign up as soon possible.
We strongly encourage anyone suffering from sexual abuse or distress from this report to contact 1800RESPECT.
