The disability sector could benefit from a program being considered to provide support through online services under the National Broadband Network. A similar plan has recently been announced for Hearing and Vision services in remote areas. The Federal government is providing 4.9 million dollars over three years to improve access to services for children in regional and rural Australia. The program will use tools like iPads and laptops to teach children the best ways to use support devices like hearing aids, as well as providing links to medical centers and schools.
