On Sunday the 16th of March 2003, American peace activist Rachel Corrie was crushed to death by an Israeli bulldozer in the occupied territories. Several people witnessed the incident, and all indications were the bulldozer’s driver aimed his machine straight at Rachel and other members of her group who were there protesting the illegal demolition of Palestinian homes. A theatre company in the UK have just produced a play about her life titled My Name is Rachel Corrie – and Rachel’s mother, Cindy Corrie, told Peter Godfrey about the project.
